This time we tested the Gtune  software with the cooperation of Simone Filippini.

This is a music-dedicated software capable of measuring the current Rpm of our slot motor also.

 The software is very simple, freeware and fully functional; all the hardware you need is your pc, an economical microphone ,and obviously Gtune.

How to use Gtune:.

Double click on the program icon and  press the “power button”, run your motor and slowly draw your microphone near the motor.

Properly set the reading  frequency on 440 Hz, read the value in the box on the left and multiply this number by 60. You’ve just found the rpm of your slot motor.

We tested the compatibility of this data with another data coming from our standard measuring system, reading 200 rpm between the two systems (more for the gtune).

We tried to disturb the Gtune with music, loud noises, etc but it remained unaffected; only another device with very high ciclyc speed can affect it (eg: another motor set too near).

During the measure procedure you can find a variable value of the frequency; this is due to the incorrect position of the microphone over the motor; try another position and repeat the measurement.

This is a very cheap way to achieve such important measure!
